Aaron Trecartin, AIA is an experienced, licensed architect and leads Building Block, a residential architecture firm with the catchphrase “the architectural process made simple.” In Building Block’s proposal letter before being hired, each “building block”, i.e. each milestone and deliverable of the architectural process that is specific to your project, is clearly outlined so that you know what to expect along the way. Building Block’s estimated hours to complete each “building block” are provided too, along with fee calculations, so that homeowners can have ease of mind to know how fees were calculated. It’s unusual for an architect to evaluate your project with such detail at the beginning while also providing full-transparency about how fees were calculated, and that’s what makes Building Block different!
While active throughout the entire Dallas area, Building Block specializes in renovating older homes in Dallas’ historic and conservation districts and focuses most of its work in these neighborhoods. Exterior renovations in these neighborhoods require a special level of design acumen and documentation to be approved by stakeholders such as neighborhood task forces, city staff, and city commissioners. Aaron’s familiarity with our city’s documentation and approval processes is very valuable to homeowners!
